Our Journey So Far

June 21, 2022
  • Shionogi and Pixie Dust Technologies signed a basic agreement to conduct joint research aimed at “brain activation and cognitive function improvement through auditory stimulation.”
  • Since December 2021, the two companies have been collaborating on the development of a new service inspired by how sensory stimulation can influence rhythmic brain activity. Through this research, they co-developed a unique sound capable of enhancing specific brain rhythms known as gamma waves.
  • Looking ahead, the project aims to build further scientific evidence to develop services that can naturally enhance brain activity by adapting everyday sounds — such as TV audio and music — to promote cognitive health. (Press release)

  • Gamma Wave Sound TM, which enables cognitive care through everyday auditory experiences, received two major honors — the Gold Award in the Creative Innovation Division and the ICC Summit Prize — at the ACC TOKYO CREATIVITY AWARDS.
  • The ACC TOKYO CREATIVITY AWARDS is one of Japan’s largest and most prestigious creative awards, originating from the ACC CM Festival established in 1961. The Creative Innovation Division recognizes highly innovative and creative projects with the potential to transform society.
  • The ICC Summit Prize is one of the “CI PARTNERS Awards” presented by partner companies in the Creative Innovation Division, honoring initiatives that demonstrate exceptional innovation, usefulness, and societal value.
March 26, 2025
  • Shionogi, Pixie Dust Technologies, and Tohoku Cable Television Network launched the “CATV × Gamma Wave Sound TM” Project, a new initiative promoting healthy lifestyle habits through sound.
  • The project integrates Gamma Wave Sound TM into CATV broadcasts, aiming to address challenges in an aging society. By incorporating it into everyday viewing experiences, the initiative helps build a new model for maintaining and improving cognitive function naturally at home. (Announcement)
