ALS Funding Reqests

Shionogi’s acceptance of a funding request is dependent upon multiple factors including, but not limited to, scientific merit, company goals, therapeutic focus and availability of resources/funding.

Completed funding requests must be received at least 60 days prior to the program start date. This allows Shionogi to review each request thoroughly and answer any questions that applicants might have during the review process.

Once you submit your funding request application, you will receive the following formal notifications from Shionogi:

    Email notifications indicating that registration has been completed, and application has been submitted for review and has been moved into the triage and review process.
  2. 2
    Email notification upon completion of the review process informing of the determination of your application.

Types of Funding Requests We Support

Educational Grants

We are currently receiving and reviewing grant funding requests for independent, objective, educational programs and activities that provide legitimate education of healthcare professionals and/or the public in the therapeutic area of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

Grant requests may come from academic institutions, state or national medical associations or societies, disease foundations and associations, patient associations, or other educational providers. For academic institutions, the University Grants Office should apply for the grant, rather than an individual department or research group. Preference will be given to requests that are ACCME accredited, contain an educational needs assessment and propose to evaluate post-program educational outcomes.

Shionogi will consider charitable contributions to not-for-profit organizations or institutions whose missions include improving patient care, supporting charitable causes, events and patient outreach programs. Submissions should align with Shionogi’s mission and therapeutic areas of focus in rare disease.

Investigator Initiated Trials

Shionogi is committed to supporting Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs) that are intended to foster the advancement of scientific and clinical knowledge and improve patient care. Our IITs Program has been created to provide support for Investigator-Initiated and independent research or Health Economics Outcome Independent Research that illustrates the potential to foster knowledge and understanding of Shionogi’s product(s).
