OSAKA, Japan, March 16, 2023 - Shionogi & Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Osaka, Japan; Chief Executive Officer: Isao Teshirogi, Ph.D.; hereafter "Shionogi") announced that, Shionogi was recognized as one of the highest-ranking companies on the Supplier Engagement Rating (SER) (Climate Change) by CDP1, a global non-profit organization working on environmental information disclosure. Shionogi has been recognized as a Supplier Engagement Leader for the third consecutive year. It received high marks on the heels of being ranked as A for Climate Change and for Water security in December 20222.
SER evaluates companies in four categories related to Climate Change: 1) governance, 2) targets, 3) Scope 3 emissions, and 4) supplier engagement. In 2022, about 650 companies in the world, including 130 Japanese companies, were recognized on the Supplier Engagement Leader as companies implementing strategies and taking actions to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and manage climate risk in their supply chains.
SHIONOGI Group identified Protect the Environment as a corporately material issue to be addressed and set medium- and long- term action targets (environment) based on SHIONOGI Group Heritage (The Company Policy of SHIONOGI), SHIONOGI Group Code of Conduct and SHIONOGI Group EHS3 Policy. Moreover, we engage with our business partners and require them to adhere to Shionogi Group Business Partner Code of Conduct. We believe these continual efforts were recognized by CDP.
