Initiatives with World Vision Japan(WVJ)

Contributing to infection prevention measures by conducting hand hygiene classes for elementary school students

Through collaboration between the international NGO World Vision Japan(WVJ)and SHIONOGI, hand hygiene classes are held for elementary school students to prevent infections.By collaborating with WVJ, which has a wealth of experience in supporting developing countries, and SHIONOGI, which is specialized in infectious diseases, we hope that it will be an opportunity for children to become aware of the SDGs by taking measures against infectious  diseases and issues in developing countries as their own.

Japanese children learned SDGs Goal 3 "Health"  and SDGs Goal 6 "Safe water"  through studying the lives of children in Kenya, the location of the  "Mother to Mother SHIONOGI Project" for maternal and child health together with WVJ.

Through this online summer school, we had the opportunity to deepen the bond between these japanese and kenyan children.

 

We held an online summer school under the theme of SDGs Goal 3 "Health : Infectious Diseases and Children of the world" .

Japanese children learned SDGs Goal 3 "Health"  and SDGs Goal 6 "Safe water"  through studying the lives of children in Kenya, the location of the  "Mother to Mother SHIONOGI Project" for maternal and child health together with WVJ.

We held an online summer school under the theme of "New Coronavirus and Children of the World".

We gave a talk about the way of proper washing hands. Japanese children created posters to convey the importance of washing hands to children in Africa, the location of the “Mother to Mother SHIONOGI Project”. These posters were sent to African children.

We held an online international understanding school "Let's learn about infectious diseases prevention ! " .

From SHIONOGI , an employee from CSR Department participated as a lecturer.

Eventhough this lecture was held online , it conveyed the importance of washing hands to children. Through the preparation of videos, questions and devised lectures, this message was  presented.

We held a summer school under the theme of "Importance of washing hands".

From SHIONOGI , an employee from CSR Department participated as a lecturer.

We gave a talk about the importance of washing hands and children actually experienced it.

We also held a lecture on "Protecting Children from Infectious Diseases" for parents.

Study session on infection prevention measures at elementary and junior high schools.

We held a study session in a way that meets the needs of the school so that elemtary and junior high school syudents can take infection prevention measurures as their own.

We aim to enable each student to practice specific infection prevention by gaining correct information and knowledge about infection prevention measures.

We also hope that participants will be able to communicate the need for infection prevention to other loved ones.
