Execution of an Agreement to Terminate the Commercialization Agreement with SUSMED Co., Ltd. for a Digital Therapeutic Application for Insomnia

OSAKA, Japan, August 26, 2026 - Shionogi & Co., Ltd.  (Head Office: Osaka, Japan; Chief Executive Officer: Isao Teshirogi, Ph.D.; hereafter "Shionogi") announced that we have agreed with SUSMED Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Tokyo, Japan; President and CEO: Taro Ueno) to terminate, as of today, the "Commercialization Agreement for a Digital Therapeutic Application for Insomnia"1 (hereafter the "Agreement") concluded between the two companies.

 

Since the conclusion of the Agreement, we have advanced our efforts under the Agreement. Following repeated discussions, we have concluded an agreement to terminate the Agreement today. Meanwhile, the importance of Shionogi's commitment to the sleep disorder area remains unchanged.

 

Leveraging our strengths and expertise, Shionogi will continue to promote a range of initiatives, including not only the provision of therapeutics but also disease awareness and research and development, so as to contribute to the treatment and the improvement in quality of life (QOL) of patients living with insomnia.
