2.       Background and Purpose of the Relocation

The Tokyo Nihonbashi Office is one of SHIONOGI Group’s key locations, bringing together a wide range of business functions. The relocation is intended to provide an office environment in which an increasingly diverse workforce can work more comfortably and effectively.

In November 2025, Shionogi relocated its Osaka head office and established it as its Global Headquarters under the office concept “FACE,” positioning it as “a space that supports an ever-evolving SHIONOGI, where individual employees with pride and aspirations come together to create new value.” For the relocation of the Tokyo Nihonbashi Office, Shionogi will likewise develop an office environment and functions befitting the “FACE” concept as SHIONOGI’s base in Tokyo.

3.       Features of the New Office

・Accelerating Communication
While respecting employees’ diverse ways of working, Shionogi aims to create an environment that strengthens communication and collaboration both internally and externally, further improves the quality and speed of its business activities, and helps generate new value.

・Further Enhancing Safety and Security
As a HaaS company, Shionogi has a social responsibility to ensure the stable supply of products and services that contribute to the treatment of disease and improvement of quality of life. It is therefore essential to establish systems that enable the continued supply of products and services under any circumstances, including disasters, as well as working arrangements that help enhance employee productivity. The relocated office is expected not only to provide employees with an even safer and more secure workplace, but also to establish the physical and functional resilience needed to maintain business operations in unforeseen circumstances.

Shionogi, which will mark the 150th anniversary of its founding in March 2028, views this relocation as an important step toward accelerating its growth as a company that strives to supply the best possible medicine (healthcare solutions) to protect the health and wellbeing of the patients we serve worldwide. Shionogi will continue striving to contribute to society through the research, production and promotion of ever better medicines and healthcare solutions.
